I feel so honored and lucky to be using my father's printmaking studio as a home for ceramic works. The space now houses a kiln, wheel, and ample room for both hand building and plaster mold making. Not only do I now have this beautiful space to make, but make in a space filled with his memory and distinct mark.

House Journal Excerpts

As part of an ongoing investigation into the intersection of everyday life and art I have been keeping a journal that poses ways those boundaries can be blurred. Note: I have made a prototype of the bathing suit, and once the designs have been modified will be posting an update.

Final Installation

From the artist statement:
I am currently constructing a 175 square foot home on wheels and have designed it to be completely off the grid. More than building a house, this undertaking is meant to alter the ways in which I live within my environment, within my community, within myself. I am attempting to find simplicity and to actively shape the world in which I live. The questions I am exploring are plentiful and ongoing... These items are the beginning of a process to question and explore ways in which acts of living can inform my art work and vise versa.”

Seed Pod Lamps

When I use these in a more permanent way I think I'm going to cluster these ceramic seed pods to one point rather than have them hang at different levels.

Work Decorum vs a 1 Foot Deep Closet

This reversible dress, which can be worn in 6 distinct ways, is an attempt to negotiate the difference between my needs (a minimal wardrobe and a one foot deep closet) and the expectations of proper work attire.

Seed Jars

These seed jars are intended to be gifted, and then re-gifted, as a way to encourage the exchange of seeds and their histories among friends and family.

I have started construction on my tiny home and have a new blog to chronicle the adventure.
Be sure to check it out and send me your suggestions!
